“In this way we will give a voice to businesses working in the service industry. This sector comprises 7 thousand businesses employing over 40 thousand people.”

Mauro Paissan, owner of Paissan&Partners – a communication agency in Trento – is the new chairman for Conf.Servizi-Confesercenti. He was appointed with a unanimous vote on Monday evening at the Confesercenti head office. In addition to Mr. Paissan’s appointment, the evening saw the renewal of the board of directors.

The occasion was also taken as an opportunity to define the association’s objectives during the debate on the subject of “The future of businesses in the service industries; a synonym and guarantee of professional skills and expertise”. Specifically, the association aims to increase the importance of Service industry businesses in being instrumental for the definition and implementation of local development policies.

“Confservizi has all the qualities and potential to contribute with its skills and expertise in creating and qualifying local economic/social systems” stated the newly-elected chairman, Mr. Paissan.

So, the next steps will be to establish a representative body and to safeguard the sector’s interests and those of its associated businesses through measures involving political/institutional, legislative/regulatory and technical/operational relations with institutions, authorities and associations operating at a regional level.

“The association, – added Mr. Paissan – will support the professional training, transformation and qualified development of the sector. Our industry includes different types of businesses of which some have guidelines and regulations while others are subject to no legal obligations. For this reason, I share the opinion of Loris Lombardini, chairman of Confesercenti, when he deems it is necessary to envisage a code of ethics and self-regulation, especially in view of acquiring new clients, notably when operating on foreign markets.”
